Below are the proposed interview questions for Videos 01 and 03. These are broken into sections so the interview flows naturally. Please review and let me know if anything needs adjusting, reordering, or if there's anything you'd like to add.

Intro to Coaching
Sit-down interview — approx. 15 minutes
Opening
  • Tell us your name, what you do and what JK Hockey is all about.
  • What's the driving goal behind what you do - what are you ultimately trying to achieve for the young women who come through your program?
Background & Credibility
  • Where did you grow up playing hockey and how did your career unfold from there?
  • What was the highlight of your playing career - the moment you look back on most proudly?
  • Was there a specific moment or person that made you realise coaching was the path you wanted to take?
JK Hockey
  • What was the driving force behind starting JK Hockey — where did the idea come from and what did you want it to stand for?
  • When a parent is sitting on the fence about signing their daughter up — what do you want them to know about what you do and why it matters?
Closing
  • What's the most rewarding moment you've had as a coach so far - a player, a breakthrough, something that reminded you why you do this?
  • When you picture JK Hockey in 5 years, what does that look like - what are you building towards?

  • Tell me about your playing career - what were the highs, and what did you have to overcome to get there?
  • What's the moment from your career you're most proud of?

  • When did the shift happen from player to coach - was there a moment that made it click?
  • What did you want to bring to coaching that maybe you felt was missing when you were coming up?
Inspiring the Next Generation
  • When you look at the girls you coach today, what do you see in them that resonates with you?
  • What do you want them to believe about themselves that maybe took you time to figure out?
